Hey guys welcome back. On the third day of school this year, we had an assembly. And our principal asked us to raise our hand if we were stressed. I jokingly turned to my friend and said, “Not yet, ask me again in three months and I guarantee my hand will be the first one up.”
And although I am not quite there yet, as in crying because I’m drowning in homework and projects, I am starting to get stressed a bit. I know that poor Lyss is already loosing her mind. So I thought, why not make this post ahead of time so that when I do start to feel like I’m drowning and can’t even think straight, I have this to refer back to.
1. Take time for yourself.
I really recommend setting aside at least a half hour each day where you only worry about you. Do something you enjoy doing. Use this time to forget about your stress and clear your mind. It’ll allow you to focus more when it comes time to do work.
2. Make personal deadlines
Something that has always helped me stay on task and get my work done more efficiently is setting my own deadlines. On a day to day basis, I usually set a homework deadline for 6 pm. All my homework must be done by 6. But for things like projects I tend to make the deadline closer. For example let’s say I have a Spanish project that is due in 3 weeks. Well, I would tell myself, “Okay for you, part one is due Friday and part two is due Wednesday. The final copy is due by the end of next week.”
3. Take care of your body
In times of stress, we often forget to take care of ourselves. We eat any snack within reach to avoid stopping our work, don’t drink enough water, and our sleep schedules get all messed up. This makes you even more stressed. So, as much as you need to write that essay, it isn’t worth sacrificing your health.
Those are my 3 main tips on dealing with stress. If you have any more, feel free to share because I, and many other people, could use all the help we can get. Thanks for reading.
See ya soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
